ASTM Weights are designed specifically for adjustment of electronic balances and scales, and these high-precision stainless steel weights provide easy handling and stacking. All weights are traceable to the SI through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Weights are manufactured to one of the following specifications: ASTM E 617 or NIST Handbook 105-1. ASTM Class 0-4 stainless steel weights are available in sets, kits, and individual.

Individual – Choose individual ASTM Class 0-4 stainless steel weights to supplement your existing collection for custom sets. Individual designs include leaf, single-piece cylindrical, and screw-knob styles.

• Leaf Weights – Individual leaf weights must be shipped in case. Weights are available as replacements to existing sets or customizing sets to your specifications. When no existing case is used, see Kit leaf weights.
  • Metric – Class 0-4
  • Avoirdupois – Class 1-4
  Screw Knob and Single-Piece Cylindrical – Screw-knob weights are Type II design with sealing cavity for adjusting material. ASTM classes 0-4 have a polished finish. Applications include calibrating Class I and II balances and ASTM class 4, 5 and 6 weights, student laboratory use, and rough weighing operations such as force. Single-piece cylindrical weights are Type I design meaning one-piece construction. These weights have no added adjusting material.

  • Avoirdupois – Class 1-4; .005lb – 50lb

Kits – All cylindrical ASTM kits include their own protective case and glove set for safe handling. Choose between leaf or screw-knob design weight kits.

Sets – We offer many configurations for the Rice Lake ASTM classification weight sets. Custom sets are available as build-to-order to meet your specific requirements. Each set consists of the weights, case, and appropriate lifting design.

• Metric – Class 0-4 metric weight sets ranging from 500 mg to up to 25 kg. Weights sets larger than 500 g include a hardwood case with velvet-lined pockets. The largest weight sets include a precision-machined polyvinyl, crush-resistant case.
